Sport is the reason many people go looking for cheap IPTV, and the legal options are scattered across providers. This post collects what Swisscom, Zattoo, Sky, DAZN and Salt say about sport and which terms to check (state: October 2026), and what the free route really is.

Live sport on TV in Switzerland: the main options compared
The coverage column quotes the provider's own wording. Prices are on the providers' pages and change with introductory offers, so the table lists the terms each provider states instead.
| Package | Terms the provider states | What the provider says it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Swisscom blue Sport | Annual subscription for new customers with an introductory offer; minimum term 12 months | All Champions League and Europa League matches, the Super League and Challenge League, top Conference League and Premier League matches (via Canal+ in French) |
| Swisscom blue TV XL Sport | The whole plan, with blue Sport included | blue Sport included |
| mySports (Swisscom, Zattoo) | Yearly or monthly subscription | NHL and National League ice hockey, CHL; Zattoo lists 14 ice hockey channels |
| Sky Sport (Swisscom, Zattoo) | Add-on | Sky's sports channels |
| DAZN (via Swisscom) | Add-on | Listed by Swisscom with Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, NFL and other sports |
02
Football: blue Sport and the others
Swisscom is the provider that names the Champions League, Europa League and Super League in its offer, either as the blue Sport add-on (an annual subscription for new customers, minimum term 12 months) or inside blue TV XL Sport. Salt and Sunrise sell sport through partners; Salt advertises a three-month free trial of Sky Sport with some bundles, and Sunrise points customers to blue Sport offers. Check the exact competitions on the provider's page before you buy, because rights change by season.
03
Ice hockey: mySports
Zattoo's mySports package (an annual subscription) offers 14 ice hockey channels, live and time-shifted, and Swisscom lists mySports with NHL and National League games and the Champions Hockey League. Salt lists mySports among its sport options.
04
What the SRG streams
The SRG players show some live sport and results for free, funded by the licence fee. SRF states, however, that its live streams work only inside Switzerland for legal reasons and that online rights for many sports events are limited to Switzerland, which matters if you travel; see watching Swiss TV abroad.
05
Why free streams of paid sport are a trap
Lists that offer Sky, DAZN or Champions League matches for free distribute channels without the rights, and they are the most common route to an unlicensed IPTV subscription. Such services disappear without notice, have no support and take payment details from an anonymous operator. IPTV illegal or legal in Switzerland explains what the law says, and IPTV scams and red flags how to recognise an offer to avoid.
06
How to watch sport for less
Practical ways to keep the cost down:
- Pay for one sport only, and check whether a monthly option during the season suits you better than a year-round package you barely use
- Compare the annual and the monthly option and the minimum term before you commit
- Use a free trial to check the exact competitions and the picture quality, then cancel before it ends if you do not continue
- Check whether the competition you care about is on the free SRG players at all
