Before you subscribe to a streaming service, you want to know whether your TV runs it. This post lists the devices Zattoo names on its devices page (state: October 2026), the model years it gives and the limits that depend on the plan.
01

Streaming devices for a TV that is not smart
A TV without internet access can be turned into a smart TV with a streaming device. Zattoo names Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Google Chromecast, Apple TV, Nvidia Shield (via Android TV) and the Xbox One, Series S and Series X, and says Zattoo is already preinstalled on some of them. You open the app, log in and stream.
03
Phones, tablets, laptops and browsers
Zattoo has apps for Android and iOS phones and tablets, a Huawei version, a Windows 10 app and a web app that runs in a browser on Mac, PC, laptop, smartphone and tablet. On mobile apps and laptops the Free plan has no time limit, as Zattoo Free, Premium or Ultimate explains.
04
Limits that depend on your plan
Support for a device does not mean the plan allows unlimited use on it. Zattoo Free allows 10 hours a month on connected TVs and one device at a time, Premium 2 parallel streams and Ultimate up to 4. If you watch every evening on the TV, the plan matters more than the model year.
05
Checking an older TV
A short routine before you subscribe:
- Look up your TV's model year; Samsung before 2015, LG before 2016 and Panasonic before 2017 are outside the list
- If the TV is too old, plan for a streaming device and connect it by HDMI
- Use the free tier or the free month to test the app on that exact TV
- Put the TV on a network cable if you can, see fixing TV buffering
06
Using the app abroad
A reminder from Zattoo's rules for use abroad: the app must already be downloaded at home, and a Swiss account abroad can stream only recordings. See watching Swiss TV abroad.
