Swisscom blue TV is the TV product of Switzerland's largest operator, and its plans are easy to mix up: the letters stand for what is included, which the names alone do not tell you. This post reads the five plans and the add-ons from Swisscom's own pages (state: October 2026) and says what to check before you pick one.

01

Swisscom blue TV plans: S, M, L, XL Sport and XL Streaming

The five plans differ in channels, replay, recording capacity and how many mobile devices you can use. The XL plans add content packages. Swisscom's current prices are on each plan page.

02

What the two XL plans add

blue TV XL Sport includes blue Sport: Swisscom lists all matches of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, the Super League and the Challenge League, top matches of the Conference League and the Premier League (in French via Canal+), and matches from other competitions via Sportdigital.

blue TV XL Streaming includes blue Binge, that is Netflix Basic and Disney+ Standard, plus blue Premium and blue Play. Swisscom also sells blue Binge separately as an add-on.

03

Add-ons and what they do

Beyond the plans, Swisscom sells options. Their current prices are on the add-on page; this table says what each one does:

04

blue TV Air and the app: TV without a Swisscom subscription

Swisscom's blue TV Air and the blue TV app give access to over 250+ channels live on a smartphone, tablet or laptop, free of charge or with catch-up, and they work without Swisscom internet. On a TV, Swisscom recommends its TV-Box for the best experience; the app runs on most smart TVs and on Apple TV 4K, but radio, teletext, HbbTV, subtitles and blue+ in UHD are not available through the app on those devices.

05

UHD on blue TV: what you need

Swisscom states two requirements for UHD: an internet speed of at least 40 Mbit/s and a UHD-ready TV, and the content has to exist in UHD. The devices named are the TV-Box 5 and the Apple TV 4K. Swisscom lists 11 to 12 premium UHD channels depending on the plan. How the speeds work is explained in internet speed for TV streaming.

06

How to choose a blue TV plan

A practical way to narrow it down:

  • Do you record programmes? Plan S has no recording, M has 240 hours, L and XL 2,000 hours
  • How many people watch at once? Check the number of TVs and mobile devices, and whether you need Multiroom Max
  • Is sport the reason? Compare XL Sport with S, M or L plus the blue Sport add-on
  • Do you want Netflix and Disney+ anyway? XL Streaming may beat buying them separately
  • What are the conditions after the promotion? Read the minimum term and what changes when the first 12 months end

07

What to check before you sign

Swisscom's promotion applies to new customers, and some conditions are tied to ordering a blue Internet subscription. Look at the minimum term, the notice period and what changes after the promotion on the plan page itself, and compare the total with a competitor's bundle, as in Swisscom vs Sunrise vs Salt vs Zattoo.
