Sunrise sells TV as part of its internet and mobile plans rather than as a separate product, which makes it hard to compare with Swisscom or Zattoo. This post sets out what Sunrise itself says about its two TV subscriptions, the box, replay and the extras (state: October 2026).

Sunrise TV: Up TV L vs Up TV M
Sunrise names two TV subscriptions. They share the same feature list and differ in what they come with and where you can watch.

The Sunrise TV Box and the IPTV Box
Depending on the connection, Sunrise supplies either the IPTV Box or the Sunrise TV Box. Sunrise says they differ only in design; operation, menus and functions are identical. The box can be connected by Wi-Fi, but Sunrise recommends a network cable because it is more stable.
If you have a second TV, you add a TV Box for each additional TV. The Sunrise TV App lets you watch on smartphone, tablet and computer.

Replay, recordings and the Skip Ads option
On most time-shifted TV channels, commercials now run in replay too. Sunrise states that you can skip them only with the separate Skip Ads option. If advertising in replay bothers you, check the option's conditions with Sunrise before you choose it as your only TV.

Channels, languages and other options
Sunrise lists over 280 TV, sports and premium channels and more than 200 radio stations. It also sells additional options, including foreign-language packages and video on demand. Sunrise TV fits best if you are, or are about to become, a Sunrise customer:
- You have Sunrise Up Home: Up TV L is included, with the box and the app
- You have a Sunrise mobile or internet plan and watch on phone, tablet or computer: Up TV M may be enough
- You have several TVs: count the extra boxes you will need
- You dislike ads in replay: the Skip Ads option is a separate add-on

What to check before you order
Sunrise's TV page gives no separate TV price, so what matters is the total of internet, TV and any options on Sunrise's own pages. Compare that with an alternative such as Swisscom blue TV or a standalone service, and look at the contract term before you sign.
