Spanish speakers in Switzerland come from two quite different television cultures, Spain and Latin America, and the two big packages lean in different directions. This post separates them (state: October 2026). Each package page shows its current price.
01
Spanish TV in Switzerland: Latin America or Spain
The providers describe their packages differently, and the description is the best clue to the content:
| Provider | Package | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Swisscom blue TV | Español+ | The top Latin American entertainment channels with telenovelas, movies, documentaries, talk shows and sport |
| Salt TV | Spanish package | Entertainment, fiction, music and regional Spanish channels |
| Zattoo | No Spanish package | TVE is listed in the channel overview |
02
Swisscom's Español+
Español+ is the package for Latin America: Swisscom's description is plain about its focus, with telenovelas, movies, documentaries, talk shows and sport. If you come from Spain and want its channels, the Salt package or TVE is the closer match.
03
Salt's Spanish package
Salt's package includes regional Spanish channels, which suggests a Spain-centred selection. It is an add-on to Salt TV and can be cancelled to the end of a month on one month's notice. As with Salt's other packages, ask for the channel names before you order.
04
TVE on Zattoo
Zattoo has no Spanish package, but its channel overview lists TVE, the Spanish public broadcaster's international channel. The overview shows which plan carries it, and Zattoo's trial lets you check the picture on your TV before you commit.
05
Which to choose
A short rule:
- From Latin America and a Swisscom customer: Español+
- From Spain and a Salt customer: the Salt package
- No operator contract and a news-first need: Zattoo with TVE
- Always add up the base subscription too, see TV costs in Switzerland
06
Football in Spanish
La Liga and Latin American leagues are sold by territory and platform, and a language package does not carry them by default. For what exists, see live sport on TV in Switzerland. Do not trust a seller who promises every Spanish league for a few francs; IPTV scams and red flags shows the signs.
07
Choosing by origin, not only by language
Spanish is one language but two television markets. Swisscom's description of Español+ names Latin American entertainment: telenovelas, movies, documentaries, talk shows and sport. Salt's refers to regional Spanish channels. A viewer from Mexico, Colombia or Argentina and a viewer from Andalusia or Catalonia may each find only half of what they want in one package.
Decide first which of the two you are, then compare the package descriptions, and use Zattoo's free month to see whether TVE's international channel is enough for news from Spain.
